Signs and symptoms of chronic kidney disease (CKD) As your kidney function decreases, you may experience some of the following symptoms: Feeling very tired Nausea and vomiting Swelling in hands, feet, ankles, or face Weight loss or gain Hard time sleeping Itchy skin Hard to breath/shortness of breath Changes in how much you urinate or having foam in your urine Hard to focus or concentrate Muscle twitches and cramps Bad taste in your mouth High blood pressure that is hard to control Not everyone will have symptoms. Education and discussion regarding end of life choices and options, Advance Directives, can help with this. At the initiation of treatment, your social worker will provide you with educational tools and encourage discussion with your loved ones to ensure your wishes are honored when its counts most.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup Ingredients: 2/3 cup long grain and wild rice blend, uncooked 1 tablespoon onion, minced 1 tablespoon fresh parsley 1 cup carrots 1 pound chicken breast, cooked 2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup all-purpose white flour 5 cups low-sodium chicken broth 1 tablespoon slivered almonds (optional) Directions: Combine rice with 2 cups broth 1/2 cup water. Cook in a rice cooker or on the stove top. 2. Mince onion and parsley. Grate carrots. Chop chicken. 3. Melt butter in a saucepan; add onion and sauté until tender. 4. Blend in flour; gradually add chicken broth. 5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture

These changes are especially common among those living with kidney disease. When a person has kidney disease, their sexual health is impacted by their physical health and psychological wellbeing.
