Program Objectives

  • Discuss a culture of safety, how it impacts patient care and communication techniques that support safety in the nephrology care setting.
  • Identify strategies for end of life discussions with patients with chronic kidney disease
  • Define the impact that pay for value has on safety net provider
  • Understand the best practice of fluid management in the dialysis patient
  • State the consequences of progressive deterioration in mineral homeostatis in the CKD population
  • Have increased understanding of patient/care partner experience with renal failure.
